Schools Delayed, MLK Ave. Flooded After Storm In Greater Morristown
More than 2 inches of rain fell in the Morristown area, and there's still a chance of showers Friday night and Saturday.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — Schools got delayed Friday, and several streets flooded as a heavy rainstorm hit Morristown.
The Morris School District announced a two-hour delay for Friday because of local flooding. Meanwhile, Martin Luther King Avenue remained closed between Spring Street and Coal Avenue because of the inundation.

The Morristown area received about 2.4 inches of rain, according to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. And there's still a chance of showers Friday night and Saturday, according to forecasters.

- Friday night: Scattered showers, mainly after 10 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
- Saturday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
- Saturday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38. West wind 5 to 10 mph.
- Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 50. West wind 10 to 15 mph.
- Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 35.
