Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Morris County

Damaging winds and frequent lightning are predicted in Morris County Monday evening, according to the NWS.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Morris County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 6 p.m. on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS predicts showers and thunderstorms are likely to begin after 4 p.m. Damaging winds and frequent lightning are also predicted for the evening.

According to forecasters, wind gusts of up to 40 mph and pea-size hail can be expected. The chance of precipitation is 6o percent later this evening.

Strong winds may cause tree limbs to fall and objects to be blown around. Outdoor objects may sustain minor damage, NWS said.
