Weather Forecast: Hazardous Weather Alert Issued For North Jersey
The National Weather Service says a winter weather advisory is possible on Tuesday in North Jersey and northwestern New Jersey.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for northern New Jersey and northwest New Jersey.
A winter weather advisory for the area may be issued later today, according to the hazardous weather outlook. The NWS is calling for a possibility of a “mixed bag” of wintry precipitation developing after midnight, including an inch of snow and some sleet early Tuesday morning. The NWS is urging drivers to be prepared for possible hazardous driving conditions during the Tuesday morning commute.
Heavy rain is also expected on Tuesday, with the possibility of changing to heavy wet snow, the NWS said.

Here’s your forecast from the National Weather Service through Friday:
- Tuesday: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 37. North wind 11 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
- Tuesday Night: Rain before 1 a.m., then rain likely, possibly mixed with sleet between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m., then rain and snow likely after 2 a.m. Low around 33. Northwest wind 9 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow and sleet accumulation expected.
- Wednesday: Rain and snow likely, becoming all rain after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 38. North wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
- Wednesday Night: Rain and snow showers likely, becoming all snow after 7 p.m. Cloudy, with a low around 32. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
- Thursday: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 40. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
- Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29.
- Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 40.
- Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30.
