2 Newark Missing Person Cases: Teen Found, Search For Woman Continues

UPDATE: Newark authorities issued two missing persons alerts in a 24-hour span. One has been found, a search for the other continues.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark authorities issued two missing persons alerts in a 24-hour span on Wednesday. One person has been found, and a search for the other continues, police say.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, Messiah S. Moore, 16, of Newark, was reported missing on May 12. Moore has since been found and is unharmed.

“Moore, diagnosed with schizophrenia and described as non-verbal, was last seen at 9:48 a.m. on the 200-block of South 11th Street. He was wearing a black Polo V-neck shirt, blue ripped jeans, and black and gold Nike Dunk sneakers. Moore, a Black male who is 5 feet 7 inches, frequents corner stores and may be in the 100 block of Littleton Avenue. He has black hair, brown eyes, and weighs 105 to 130 pounds.”

Authorities said anyone with information about a missing person can contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Anonymous tips can also be submitted at the Police Division’s website.

The incident was the second missing persons case reported on Wednesday in the city.

Robin J. Bacote, 53, of Newark, was reported missing on April 4, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.
