News12 reported the teen was the only one of five people who didn't make it out of the Irvington house alive.

The fire took place on Arverne Terrace around 2 a.m., according to the report.

Crews rushed to the scene where they began to battle heavy fire conditions, and firefighters from Maplewood, West Orange and Orange were among several companies that assisted, according to RLS Media.

After battling heavy smoke coming from the two-story structure, firefighters performed a thorough search where one person was found fatally injured inside the house. The identification of the victim is unknown at this time, according to the report.
