Customs: Man Tries To Smuggle 10 Pounds Of Coke Inside Snack Stash At Newark Airport
The Essex County man was returning from Peru when officers allegedly found 10 pounds of coke in his luggage.

Newark Liberty Airport authorities arrested an Essex County man for allegedly attempting to smuggle 10 pounds of cocaine into the country inside an assortment of snack products.
According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, William Anthony Sanchez, 48, of Newark, was returning from Peru on Sunday when officers found Oxycodone pills in his checked backpack.
It was then that the officers found around $170,000 worth of cocaine hidden inside nougat cakes, powdered drinks and bags of coffee, authorities stated.
