The incident happened about a block away from Penn Station in Newark, and police are searching for a suspect, according to RLS Media.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out near Hamilton and NJ Railroad Avenue around 5:15 a.m., according to the reports.

A male suspect approached the victims armed with a gun and demanded personal possessions. Witnesses reportedly said they heard a shot fired at the victim before fleeing the scene in a car, the reports said.
The suspect was described as a black male last observed wearing a hoodie, according to the reports.
There were no injuries reported.
