Manhunt After Robbery, Gunshots Near Train Station In Newark

Reports say an morning robbery and shots were fired allegedly near New Jersey commuters on Friday, police said.

The incident happened about a block away from Penn Station in Newark, and police are searching for a suspect, according to RLS Media.

Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out near Hamilton and NJ Railroad Avenue around 5:15 a.m., according to the reports.

A male suspect approached the victims armed with a gun and demanded personal possessions. Witnesses reportedly said they heard a shot fired at the victim before fleeing the scene in a car, the reports said.

The suspect was described as a black male last observed wearing a hoodie, according to the reports.
There were no injuries reported.
