Mass Shooting In Newark, 5 Wounded: Police

Five people were shot near the 100 block of Isabella Avenue, Newark police say.

Newark, NJ – Authorities are investigating a mass shooting that took place in Newark on Monday evening.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, five people were shot around 7:30 p.m. near the 100 block of Isabella Avenue.

The wounded victims were transported to University Hospital; two were listed in critical condition and three were treated for non-life threatening injuries, authorities stated.

Detectives recovered four guns and a “large quantity of marijuana” of an unspecified amount at the scene, authorities said.

An investigation is ongoing, authorities added.
