Newark Car Crash Downs Light Pole, Closes Street: Police

NEWARK, NJ — A crash in Newark downed a light pole and closed the street to traffic on Friday afternoon, authorities said.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, a vehicle collision took place at Central Avenue and North 8th Street, resulting in a downed light pole. Traffic along North 8th Street was temporarily closed. Drivers should anticipate delays and seek alternate routes, police said.
