Newark Police Seek ‘Armed And Dangerous’ Robbery Suspect

The Newark man allegedly shot at an officer during a robbery at a local kids clothing store, police say.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark police are seeking an “armed and dangerous” suspect who allegedly shot at an officer during a robbery at a local children’s clothing store, authorities say.

According to the Newark Public Safety Department, authorities have issued an arrest warrant for Keith J. Godbolt, 43, of Newark, in connection with an aggravated assault against a police officer on Nov. 11, 2016.

Godbolt is wanted for allegedly shooting at a police officer during a robbery at Jakie’s Kids Clothing Store at 715 Broad Street. He remains at-large while his two accomplices have been apprehended, authorities stated.

“While police are actively seeking Godbolt, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from our streets,” a police news release stated. “He is considered armed and dangerous.”
