Newark Prep School Gets Social Media Threat, Closes For Day: Police
Newark detectives say the threat may be related to a fight that took place between two students at the school.

NEWARK, NJ — Authorities closed a Newark prep school on Tuesday after an apparent threat to the school was made on a social media post, police say.
On Tuesday, authorities closed the People’s Preparatory Charter School at 321 Bergen Street around 9 a.m. after school officials alerted Newark police about the alleged threat.
No guns were located during a search of the school, but the premises was closed as a precaution, police said.

“Detectives are investigating information that the threat is related to a fight that [happened] late last week between two students at the school,” the Newark Public Safety Department stated.
