Newark Youth Kick Their Way To Success In Taekwondo Tournament

The free "Kicking it After School" karate program takes place at the Weequahic Family Success Center.

NEWARK, NJ — A group of Newark youth kicked their way to success during an international taekwondo tournament held last weekend, organizers say.

“We salute these kids along with their amazing instructor, Robert Lewis, for his unwavering dedication to our children,” the Weequahic Family Success Center stated.

The "Kicking it After School" karate program takes place at the Weequahic Family Success Center at 1065 Bergen Street, and is free and open to the public, according to organizers. Interested participants can sign up by calling the center at (862) 237-7401 and registering with Hazel Smith.
