PSEG Electrician Suffers 3rd Degree Burns At Newark Airport: Police

The electrician was working on a transformer when he was struck by electricity, authorities said.

A PSE&G electrician suffered third-degree burns after electricity struck him while he was working on a transformer at Newark International Airport Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The man, 38, suffered third-degree burns to his face, legs, and chest, said Joe Pentangelo, spokesman with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department.

The man was awake and alert and was being airlifted to Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston,  Pentangelo said. 

There was no interruption to airport service and operations, authorities said.
