3 A.M. Fire Wednesday In Forest Glen Apt. Complex In Highland Park

HIGHLAND PARK, NJ —Three families are currently homeless after a large fire broke out in the Forest Glen apartment complex in Highland Park in the pre-dawn hours of Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out at 3:49 a.m. on the 40 block of Cedar Lane, said Highland Park Police spokesman Capt. Jose Curbelo.

The fire rose to two-alarm status and then a third alarm as it rapidly spread to apartments next door.

Nobody was injured in the fire, neither firefighters nor residents, but three families were displaced and are currently being housed by Forest Glen complex management.

Highland Park Police Department, along with the Highland Park Fire Department, New Brunswick Fire Department, East Brunswick, East Franklin Fire Department, North Stelton Fire Department, River Road Fire Department, Milltown EMS, Highland Park OEM, and North Brunswick Fire Department responded to assist.

The cause was not released and it does not appear suspicious.
