Attempted Knifepoint Robbery Investigated By Rutgers Police
The man who reported the crime was not injured, and the suspect did not steal anything from him.
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Rutgers University Police are investigating an attempted knifepoint robbery early Friday morning on Stone Street.
Police say a man "who is affiliated with Rutgers University" reported someone walked up to him, brandished a folding knife, and "demanded personal property." The attempted robbery happened around 1:50 a.m. on Stone Street, near the intersection of College Avenue.
Rutgers Police did not provide a description of the suspect, who they say noticed a police vehicle nearby and left the area on foot towards Hamilton Street.
