
The New Jersey Hyperlocal News Association next reporter's training workshop will be on November 17th at 7:00 pm (Registration & Refreshments begin at 6:30pm). The session will feature a moderated discussion among a citizen activist, an open government attorney, a city clerk, and a seasoned reporter discussing tips and tools for using the Open Public Records Act (OPRA) and Sunshine Law.
These two laws our the public's greatest tool in observing and holding accountable local government. This session will go over your legal rights, best practices for obtaining "hard to find" records, and stories that can be generated from public records.
