Limits Remain on Rutgers Contract Process Despite Progress

A report from the state comptroller shows there are still limits on bidding for Rutgers' public contracts.

Although it eliminated several controversial practices, including one in which it could award contracts without competition if it was in the best interests of the university, Rutgers University still has work to do on its contract bidding process, nj.com reports.

The state comptroller issued a report on Wednesday stating there was still a limit on competition for Rutgers’ public contracts. Wednesday’s report was a follow-up to its 2011 audit of Rutgers’ practices, according to nj.com.

The University responded by saying it would be reevaluating its contract policies following its merger with the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey (UMDNJ), according to the report.
