This Man Is Wanted By New Brunswick Police

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A 22-year-old New Brunswick man has been charged with attempted murder stemming from a shooting that occurred inside a home on the 100 block of Nichol Avenue on the evening of July 26.

Josh Everette was also charged with various weapons offenses.

However, he currently remains at large. New Brunswick police are actively trying to locate Everette, and ask anyone with information about his location to please contact the New Brunswick Police Headquarters at (732)745-5200 or the New Brunswick Police Detective Bureau at (732) 745-5217.

Everette should not be approached and considered armed and dangerous.

The preliminary investigation suggests two residents of the Nichol Avenue home engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical. Other residents and guests at the house attempted to intervene and a physical altercation between five individuals ensued.

During the altercation, police say Everette fired a gun and struck a 24-year-old New Brunswick man involved in the altercation. The victim was shot in the abdomen and the buttocks and was transported to the hospital where he was treated for the non-life threatening injuries.
