Multiple Rutgers Dorm Rooms Broken Into

All the break-ins occurred between 9:00 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Tuesday at a dorm hall at 105 Joyce Kilmer Avenue, said Rutgers campus police.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Multiple Rutgers dorm rooms were broken into this Tuesday on the Piscataway campus, according to Rutgers University police.

The break-ins happened at dorms at Livingston Hall, a seven-story building.

All the break-ins occurred between 9:00 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 26 at a dorm hall located at 105 Joyce Kilmer Avenue.

Rutgers is not back in class yet for the fall session, but those dorms are occupied by young people on campus for summer sessions and camps.

All the young people living in the dorms reported that their dorm rooms had been left vacant and unlocked, and that items of value were removed. The victims were not present during the incidents.

The description of the perpetrator(s) is limited at this time. Rutgers University Police asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, contact the RUPD’s Detective Bureau at 848-932-8025.

NJ 101.5 reports that Livingston Hall is part of the Global Roommates Program and includes a Starbucks and Qdoba, a Rutgers Tech Store and a hair salon.
