Musicfest of Praise in Piscataway to Feature Unspoken

Christ United Methodist Church hosts outdoor concert on June 13. Admission free with donation of nonperishable foods.

Unspoken, a contemporary Christian band with a growing national following, will headline the third annual Musicfest of Praise at Christ United Methodist Church in Piscataway on June 13 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The church, located at 485 Hoes Lane in Piscataway, hosts Musicfest of Praise on its front lawn as a means to raise community awareness of the broad scope of hunger in New Jersey. In lieu of an admission charge, the church asks concertgoers to come with lawn chairs and donations of nonperishable food. The church’s Shepherd’s Shelves ministry, in collaboration with other organizations, distributes the donated food to families in Piscataway and surrounding communities.

Unspoken’s most recent hit single, “Start a Fire,” climbed all the way to number two in the Billboard rankings of airplay on U.S. Christian radio stations in late 2014. “Start a Fire” is featured on the band’s first full-length album, titled “Unspoken,” which reached the top 10 on Billboard’s chart of contemporary Christian albums. Unspoken’s musical style is characterized as diverse, which befits a band with members from Maine, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
