New Brunswick Library Holi Festival Is March 25
All are welcome at this family-friendly event that will include Indian dance and music performances, throwing colored powder and more:

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — The New Brunswick Public Library will celebrate its 14th annual Indian Holi Festival on March 25.
The public is welcome at the library from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. March 25; the New Brunswick Library is located at 60 Livingston Ave, New Brunswick, NJ 08901.
The celebration will begin with music and dance performances by Sowparnika Dance Academy, Chinmayi Nrithyalaya and Sudhamini Dance Academy.

New this year is a musical dance drama called "A Story of Holi," a reenactment of the legend of Holika and Prahlad, performed by Navrang Dance Academy. In addition, there will be henna, face painting and other activities.
A highlight of the event is Holi color play, which will take place on the library’s front lawn. Powder colors will be provided while supplies last.

There will be a sampling of Indian food donated by Mithaas restaurant in North Brunswick, Bollywood Tadka in East Brunswick, Bikanervala in Iselin, The Urban Rasoi catering service and Delhi Garden in Edison.
The Holi celebration is held in partnership with the New Brunswick Cultural Center and Rutgers Indian Graduate Student Association.

Holi is an exuberant festival of colors usually celebrated in March.
Originally called Holika, Holi is meant to be a festival that brings people together. Meeting and greeting friends and relatives and exchanging sweets and gifts are integral parts of Holi.
