New Brunswick Students do Groundhog Job Shadow Day

Sixty 8th graders followed working professionals for a day.

New Brunswick, NJ - You've heard of Groundhog's Day, but have you heard of Groundhog Job Shadow Day?

On Feb. 24, sixty 8th graders from New Brunswick's McKinley Community School participated in Groundhog Job Shadow Day, a nationwide program in which young people visit offices and other locations to experience a professional work environment.

The 8th graders went to places of work such as the Middlesex County Court House, New Brunswick City Hall, Johnson & Johnson, and the Department of Immigration and Naturalization Services.

McKinley is part of New Brunswick's eight elementary schools (Lincoln, Livingston, Lord Stirling, Redshaw, Roosevelt, Paul Robeson, and Woodrow Wilson). The New Brunswick school district serves students pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade, 10,000 students in total.
