New Brunswick Man Drove Drunk, Killed Man, Police Say (patch.com) — Residents in New Brunswick are learning more about a deadly wrong-way crash on Jersey Avenue that left a 26-year-old city man dead and another local man facing serious charges. Prosecutors say the 25-year-old New Brunswick driver was drunk, speeding, and on the wrong side of the road when he hit the victim's car head-on, and they are asking anyone with information to contact New Brunswick police or county investigators.
   

2. Things To Do in New Jersey This Weekend: October 2-October 4 (foxsportsradionewjersey.com) — New Brunswick's Hyatt Regency will host the Hub City Jazz Festival's "Pieces of a Dream" concert this Sunday, Oct. 4, giving locals a major live jazz option right in town. The statewide roundup also highlights tribute concerts, food truck festivals, comedy shows, and harvest events, but New Brunswick residents can enjoy a marquee performance without leaving the city.
   

3. Warren County Commissioner Kern discusses data center planning at statewide environmental conference (wrnjradio.com) — New Brunswick hosted a statewide environmental congress where Warren County Commissioner James Kern outlined how towns can plan for the impacts of large data centers. His workshop focused on zoning tools, protecting groundwater and drinking supplies, and helping municipalities get ahead of development pressures that could affect communities across New Jersey, including those around New Brunswick.
   

4. NJ Restaurant Week returns Oct. 16–22 statewide (njbiz.com) — Two New Brunswick favorites, Evelyn's Restaurant and The Frog & The Peach, are already signed up for the statewide New Jersey Restaurant Week running October 16–22. Local spots can still join for free by offering special menus or discounts, giving New Brunswick diners a chance to explore deals close to home while sampling restaurants across the state.
