Record Number of New Brunswick Students Graduate D.A.R.E Program

800 fifth graders pledged to live free of drug and alcohol abuse, complete with a dancing officer.

New Brunswick, NJ - For 800 New Brunswick students, sometimes it takes resisting danger to be truly daring.

The large group of fifth-graders completed the 2015-16 Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) program, pledging to live their lives free of drug and alcohol abuse. A ceremony was held Tuesday at New Brunswick High School, where Lt. Raymond Trigg danced for his clapping students.

New Brunswick Public Schools and the New Brunswick Police Department have collaborated on the program for over two decades, according to the city’s website. The 800 students are the largest group to complete the program in the city’s DARE program history.
