Math specialists from other schools in the district were invited to observe the bee in the hopes that it goes district-wide, Burgos said.
Students who did not fare well with their math skills have another chance at winning a bee, as the school's spelling bee is on May 16, and a district wide spelling bee will be held June 7, according to the school staff.
