A Rutgers player, arrested this weekend in Florida on a robbery charge, has been dismissed from the football team, published reports say.

The Rutgers redshirt cornerback, arrested this weekend in his home state of Florida on a robbery charge, has been dismissed from the football team, according to published reports.
Rutgers coach Kyle Flood on Thursday announced the dismissal of Darian Dailey, according to an Associated Press story posted on the ABC news website.
Flood told NJ.com: “We’ve made the decision and now as a football program we’re moving on from that decision.”

Dailey, 19, and another man, Trazelle Johnson, 20, of Sarasota, are accused of robbing a Florida man, as he rode a bicycle around 2 a.m. Sunday, according to the Sarasota Herald Tribune.
The two defendants confronted the man with a handgun, demanded money, then drove away, but the victim got the license plate number of that vehicle, the Florida newspaper reported.

Sports Illustrated reported that the car was registered to Dailey’s mother.
Police found a pellet gun, without a red tip, in the vehicle, according to NJ.com.
Both defendants were charged with robbery with a firearm, the Herald Tribune said.
