Rutgers Student Punched, Robbed Near Campus Sunday Night

The Rutgers student told police he was approached Sunday night by a group of young men who demanded items of value and struck him twice.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — In addition to a car being stolen from the Rutgers Livingston campus last week, and a group of students shot at last Saturday night with an airsoft or BB gun (which may be related to a TikTok challenge), a Rutgers student was also punched and robbed Sunday night near campus.

This happened at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, April 17 on Bishop Place near College Avenue, said Rutgers University Police.

The Rutgers student told police he was approached by a group of young men who demanded items of value and struck him twice with a closed fist.

The Rutgers student fled, and observed the perpetrators flee down College Avenue towards Mine Street.

The college student sustained minor injuries and refused further medical attention. Rutgers Police did not say what was stolen from him.
