No Bias Ruling for Rutgers Students Responsible for Fake Eviction

The group was accused of targeting Jewish students. It was attempting to raise awareness of the plight of the Palestinian people in the occupied territories since 1967.

Rutgers University students accused of harassment for sliding fake eviction notices under dorm room doors last month have been cleared of a bias accusation, nj.com reports.

The Rutgers Bias Prevention Education Committee ruled the Students for Justice in Palestine group didn’t violate the student life policy concerning harassment, according to the report.

Members of the group slid fake eviction notices under dorm doors to bring awareness of the plight of the Palestinian people in the occupied territories since 1967.

They stood accused of targeting Jewish people with the notice, despite claims they intentionally avoided certain areas of campus that were known to have heavy Jewish population.

According to the report, there was one complaint issued against the group, although it was unclear who made it, and a rabbi claimed several students were upset about the fake notice.
