New Brunswick, N.J., September 15, 2020 – Pediatric cancer survivor, Grace Eline from Gillette, New Jersey, now 11-years old, has been an advocate for childhood cancer awareness even before her brain cancer diagnosis in 2018. Treated at the state’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and the Laurie Proton Therapy Center at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, both RWJBarnabas Health facilities, she utilized her passion for helping find a cure for childhood cancer to inspire the State of New Jersey to issue a proclamation recognizing September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is a time to recognize the bravery of children who battle cancer, and highlight the advancements in cancer research. This milestone is a step further in bringing awareness to a disease that impacts so many.
