Ticket Info for Obama at Rutgers Graduation

Rutgers is curtailing the number of people admitted into High Point Solutions Stadium this year.

New Brunswick, NJ - It's the most-see New Jersey event of spring 2016: President Barack Obama speaking at Rutgers' graduation ceremony on May 15.

However, Rutgers University announced it will be admitting fewer guests than normal this year, as it anticipates a flood of crowds to High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway.

"We have quickly recognized that it will not be possible to satisfy requests from all the people at Rutgers who would like to attend in person," said Rutgers president Robert Barchi. "The stadium was nearly at capacity last year, and we know space will be even tighter this year. We anticipate the White House will request further restrictions that will limit seating."

In fact, this year, Rutgers graduates will be allowed to bring just three guests to commencement. Rutgers graduates will receive four tickets total, three of which they can give to guests, the fourth to keep for themselves to be admitted into High Point Solutions stadium. All tickets will be barcoded so they cannot be duplicated.

Registration for tickets has not yet opened. All graduates from Rutgers' main campus in New Brunswick will be guaranteed three guest tickets and one parking pass, according to the university. Rutgers-Newark and Rutgers-Camden graduates will be offered one ticket to watch the ceremony from inside the stadium, and no guest passes, reports NJ.com. They will not be allowed on the field.

President Obama's speech and the entire 2016 graduation will be simulcast at central locations where large groups can gather — the Paul Robeson Campus Center at Newark, the Camden Campus Center, and the Livingston, Busch, and College Avenue student centers, Barchi said.

"In addition, we will stream the event live on our Commencement website," he said.

There are more than 12,000 Rutgers graduates.
