• New Milford Schools Ready To Welcome Students Back (patch.com) — New Milford families are getting ready as all four district schools reopen Thursday with shortened schedules to kick off the 2026-27 year. Freshmen can attend an early orientation at New Milford High School, while parents are urged to review calendars, transportation plans, and opening-day instructions on the district website before students head out the door.
   

• Zagorski's combine for five goals as Becton boys soccer tops New Milford (nj.com subscription) — New Milford High School's boys soccer team opened the season with an 8-2 road loss to Becton, despite goals from Jackson Levine and Arturo Ordonez-Tacle and six saves by goalkeeper Ephrem Alpar. The Knights kept it even at 2-2 by halftime before Becton surged ahead with six unanswered second-half goals, outshooting New Milford 12-4 on target.
