Bergen Ex-Con Caught With Rifle, Knives: Police

Daniel Fuersz, 68, had a dispute with a woman and the gun was at her house.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — An ex-convict was charged with various weapons offenses after police responded to a dispute between him and a woman in Bergenfield Monday afternoon.

Police responded to an Anderson Avenue home after the 59-year-old woman reported that an acquaintance, Daniel Fuersz, 68, of Bergenfield left the scene before police arrived, said Bergenfield Police Capt. Mustafa Rabboh.

Fuersz left a .22-caliber Ruger high-impact air rifle at the woman's home and the woman did not want it there, Rabboh said. Police took possession of the rifle.

He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, certain persons not to possess weapons, possession of certain illegal weapons and possession of handcuffs.

Police also had several knives and a pair of handcuffs in his possession, police said.
