Borough Escapes any Major Damage from Saturday's High Winds

NMPD Chief said the impact of the winds was "minimal"

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory on Saturday and warned that northwest winds could reach 25 to 35 mph with gusts hitting 60 mph.

New Milford Police Chief Frank Papapietro said, "The impact of Saturday's strong winds have been minimal."

"A tree came down on Cypress Street taking some wires with it, blocking the road," said Papapietro. "Crews were working to remove the tree and wires--luckily, it did not strike a house."
