An Evening Of Praise
Recipients of the Athlete of the Week of 2012 and Charlie McGill Scholarship 2012.
Last night 74 Outstanding High School Athletes were honored at The Records', "Athletes of the Week Annual Recognition Banquet" at the Landmark Catering Hall in East Rutherford, NJ.
High School Students from New Milford and as far away as Pequannock were immortilized in their own life like sketch beautifully penciled by esteemed artist, Charlie McGill. Mr. McGill has been creating masterpieces for the Athlete of the Week since 1954. Over 2,500 High School Athletes have been given this honor.
Danielle Laube, a freshman graduate from New Milford High School received the award of Athlete of the Week in 2012. Receiving the Charlie McGill Scholarships for Outstanding Sportsperson of the Year 2012 was Gabriel Colucci, 18, New Milford High School graduate and Hope Yi, a graduate of Bergen Tech. The Charlie McGill Scholarship honors students who have demonstrated leadership, sportsmanship, and citizenship, and are an inspiration to the community.
