Backyard Chickens part 6

I was given some insight as to how the governing body feels about the issue of backyard chickens.

Today I received the followng information: Certain council members, who I thought supported me, are satisfied with the Board of Health's decision. The boro attorney belives the decision of the Board is final and is not aware of any appeal process. Wednesday, March 7, is the next meeting of the Board of Health. I will be there to find out why I was denied and to ask them to reconsider. I plan to go door to door this weekend to collect signatures for a petition. My online petition is doing well but not reaching as many people as I had hoped. I find it hard to believe that, in America, a Board of Health can make decision and that the citizens have no means of appealing that decision. It seems to me the Board is taking the easy way out by doing nothing rather than following the lead of communities around this great nation and changing the current oridance to allow back yard chickens. I have posted many, many links to articles supporting this on my Facebook page New Milford Residents for Sustainability. I wonder if any of the Board or council members have even bothered to read these articles or do any research at all pertaining to this issue?
