The New Milford Lady Knights basketball team travelled to Morris Tech in Denville last night for their first round game in the state tournament. What they produced was the most exciting game of the season as they advanced to the second round with a 59-55 victory over the Lady Devils. Mackenzie Holowach led the way with three huge three pointers in the fourth quarter as each team matched basket for basket. Senior captain Rebecca McCarten was strong in the paint and hit countless big shots as the team rallied together and played a team game. Nawal Abdallah nailed a key basket from 8 feet out and Victoria Astillero was sensational late as the team got contributions from everyone. The team faces Emerson tomorrow at a probable time of 7pm.
