New Milford High School Fall Sports Preview
New Milford High School gears up for the Fall sports season.

This week marks the beginning of the fall sports season in Bergen County and New Milford kicks off most sports over the weekend. Girls Tennis starts their season on Thursday as the Lady Knights host Kearny High School. The team is led by senior Victoria Astillero who is the only returning starter. Seniors Leanne Davidson and Ashley Becker will step in as first year starters to help take the pressure off four underclassmen.
Girls volleyball hosts Secaucus on Friday. The team is led by junior Carly Lesko and senior Jenean Igmat. Coach Sheila Clancy is looking for some of her newbies to step up and lead the team to a winning season. Being in a new division brings unfamiliarity but without reservation as the team looks to surprise the pack.
The soccer season kicks off on Saturday with both the boys and girls travelling to Secaucus for an untraditional doubleheader. The girls are led by senior midfielder Jen Teets and junior Erin Bigger. Cydney Borner, the team's leading scorer of a year ago returns as does senior goalkeeper Cassidy Rizza. The team is young but talented and looks to surprise the competition in the Liberty division.

The boys are very similar to the girls as they are young, but very talented. Goal scorers Vito Cornish and Rodger Silva lead the attack up front with TJ Zadroga anchoring the team in goal. The team has a tough schedule but with a strong nucleus, looks to knock off the top teams.
The New Milford Knights football season begins in Bogota on Saturday. Running back Dante Tobler and quarterback Connor Swanson lead the offense. Receiver Kevin Soriano returns as does Joe Victory to ignite the passing game. With a strong defense in place, Coach Bill Wilde sees a successful season ahead. The team looks to improve upon last season's strong finish.
