The Pedometer Challenge- How many steps do you walk in a day?
Our professor instructed us to do a Pedometer challenge. My professor lost 5 pounds in one month, all by making sure she reached her 10,000 steps per day, and with a healthy diet.

In my Public Health class, our professor instructed us to do a Pedometer challenge, which consists of setting a goal of walking 10,000 or more steps per day. I found this extremely exciting, fun and motivating; I believe more people should try it out. Wearing a pedometer could also help someone struggling with loosing weight or wanting to maintain their weight. My professor lost 5 pounds in one month, all by making sure she reached her 10,000 steps per day, and with a healthy diet. I was surprised to see that on a good day, I was able to reach up to 14,000 steps in a day.
Losing weight could be difficult, especially when living a sedentary lifestyle; but living an active lifestyle could be beneficial for your health, in several ways, such as reducing the risk of heart disease, and improves joint, bone, and mental health. The Pedometer Challenge is one of the ways that could help track how active you are on a daily basis.
Pedometers are used to track how many steps you take. You can purchase a pedometer at almost any sporting goods store, such as Sports Authority or Modells. Some pedometers can be worn on the wrist, waist, or as a necklace around your neck.

A sedentary person my only reach 1,000 to 4,000 steps per day. Track your steps by developing a log and write down how many steps you take each day. If you find reaching 10,000 steps per day easy, increase your goal to 12,000 steps and so forth.
