The man reportedly told a man he pulled over that he had unpaid summonses and that he could pay them at the scene, police said.

NEW MILFORD, N.J. — Police are looking for a man they said impersonated a police officer and tried to get someone to pay unpaid summonses during a traffic stop.
A man reported Feb. 4 at 8:45 p.m. that he was pulled over on River Road by someone who was impersonating a police officer, said Detective Sgt. Kevin Van Saders.
The man who stopped the vehicle was driving a 2000-2006 black Chevy Tahoe or Suburban SUV with a blue and red light mounted inside, said Van Saders.
