Driver Flips SUV While Checking Phone In New Milford, Authorities Say
The driver was not injured in the crash, authorities said.
The driver of an SUV flipped her her vehicle Monday night while checking her phone, authorities said.
At approximately 9 p.m., New Milford police, fire units, and the ambulance corps responded to Boulevard Monmouth Avenue for an accident with a rollover, the New Milford Volunteer Fire Department said in a post on their Facebook page.
The driver, with help from a homeowner, pulled herself from the SUV, fire officials said; authorities said she struck a parked vehicle while checking her phone while driving.

Authorities secured the vehicle and disconnected the battery, the post said. The driver was not hurt in the crash.
“This is a reminder to not text and drive,” fire officials said in the Facebook post.
