Here are some interesting facts about the start of another school year

It's the most wonderful time...of the year! I love that Staples commercial that shows the father gleefully shopping for school supplies with his kids. I love my three children dearly, but there is something about those last two very long weeks of summer that always gets me ready for the start of the school year.
Here are five interesting facts about the Back-to-School season:
- According to the Census Bureau, $7.9 billion was spent last year on back-to-school clothing sales.
- More than 77 million Americans are considered students--age preschool through college. Students make up more than 25 percent of the entire population, according to the Census Bureau.
- The US Government says there are more than 98,000 public schools in the country--98.706 to be exact.
- How many teachers are there? In the nation's public schools there are more than 7.2 million educators.
- How involved are parents? The US Government says 89 percent of parents reported attending at least one PTA or PTO meeting during the school year.
