Neighbors-helping-Neighbors USA Looking for new members for NhN River Edge, Oradell and Bergenfield

Our local River Edge, Oradell and Bergenfield NhN meetings need to build and increase our weekly attendance and need to find some additional volunteers to be trained on leading our weekly meetings. We are in need of more members and leaders due to our extreme success. Many of our members and leaders have landed from any of our local groups but our River Edge and Oradell have been extremely successful and now need an effort to rebuild our member attendance.

Our weekly groups see an average of 250-300 attending of our 1200 members and this group is landing jobs by putting into action the strategies techniques and tactics they learn at our meetings from other members in attendance. For our meeting to have maximum success we know that we need 8-12 people there each week. We keep the groups small to keep the personal and individual help for each and every member.

Please help us spread the word and tell anyone you know who is out of work to consider coming to our weekly meetings.

We know it some people hesitate to come to meetings and share their situation with others but in today's market this is the only way you can build a networking for find your way back to work. While our full group stands as of today at 349 success stories our River Edge and Oradell groups have helped 50 people get themselves back to work.

Our web site has been voted Top 100 career site for 2013 by Forbes.com and our LinkedIn Group has over 2600 members where more then half of them or career professionals, HR heads, recruiters and friend of NhN who want to pay it forward and help our members back to work. Job leads are posted in LinkedIn every day, and many are "hidden Job Market Jobs".

          NhN Mission

NhN is a network of volunteer peer support groups that follow a community-based approach to help under-employed and unemployed residents get back to work.  NhN embraces a ‘pay it forward’ ethos, asking all associates to contribute to other members by sharing job search techniques, related professional career development resources, personal referrals and generally providing a forum where members feeling empowered, energized and focused on the job search.

                Goals

  • Provide compassionate, nonjudgmental support to members through networking, coaching, leadership experience, and camaraderie.
  • Partner with community business leaders to match members with job openings and volunteer and or paid consulting opportunities.
  • Expand network reach throughout local communities where there is a need and interest in the New York-New Jersey metro, Boston, and Washington DC area and expansion into other states.

        Core Behaviors

  • Be positive in approach and encourage others to remain positive when facing the inherent challenges of the job search.
  • Be compassionate and firm, as needed, to maintain productive meeting atmosphere and consistent results orientation.
  • Be active in respective home towns by developing the group and its role in each community.
  • Take the extra step to help members by sharing personal network and job leads.
  • Report your success story to help others stay motivated as they helped you to do.

We can always use some additional volunteers to help with facilitating our weekly meetings, please contact me at john@nhnusa.org
