New Milford Police Help Apprehend Men Following 100 MPH Chase
1 of the suspects was found behind the Bergen Academies building in Hackensack, police said.

NEW MILFORD, NJ — Borough police helped authorities arrest a man and a teenager after authorities chased them on Route 4 in excess of 100 mph early Tuesday morning, police said.
Fair Lawn Police Officer Geovanny Buitron saw a 2017 Mini Cooper speeding on Route 208 South and tried to stop it, but the vehicle took off going more than 100 mph, said Sgt. Brian Metzler.
The vehicle was going too fast for the Hackensack Avenue exit ramp and ended up in the parking lot of The Coach House Restaurant on Route 4 in Hackensack, Metzler said.

Two people fled from the Mini, which was stolen from Teaneck, on foot, the sergeant said.
River Edge police found the passenger, Mikhi Rosa, 19, behind the Bergen Academies complex in Hackensack, police said.

The driver, Jacob Gibbs, 20, tried to run on foot from Teaneck police officers near Fairleigh Dickinson University and was captured with help from a Bergen County Sheriff K9 unit behind the Rothman Center, Metzler said.
Gibbs was taken to New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus for evaluation and then to Fair Lawn Police headquarters. He was charged with: Receiving stolen property, eluding, reckless driving, careless driving, speeding, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, driving while intoxicated and various motor vehicle violations. He was sent to the Bergen County Jail.
Rosa was charged with unlawful taking by means of conveyance and released.
Officers from the Paramus, Hackensack, New Milford, River Edge and Teaneck police departments, along with Bergen County Sheriff officers helped police search for Gibbs and Rosa.
