New Milford Police Revive Man With Narcan: Prosecutor

68 people have been saved with Narcan this year, the prosecutor said; 12 people have died from heroin and opioid overdoses.

NEW MILFORD, NJ — Borough police revived a 36-year-old man with Narcan Tuesday, said Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal.

The man's life was one of three law enforcement personnel saved Tuesday using Narcan, an over-the-counter drug designed to reverse heroin and other opiate overdoses. Lodi and Oakland police also saved lives using the drug.

Gerwal's office posted about the saves on Twitter as part of a social media campaign regarding fatal drug overdoses in the county and information about the lives saved with Narcan.
