NJ Transit Strike Contingency Plan For New Milford
9-mile backup could plague GWB commuters if NJ Transit workers strike.

NEW MILFORD, NJ – Area commuters may need to budget a lot more time into their rush hour commutes starting next week if New Jersey Transit workers strike Sunday.
More than 105,000 commuters could be displaced and countless motorists be affected should union workers and the organization fail to reach a new contract before 12:01 a.m. Sunday.
A nine-mile backup could plague George Washington Bridge commuters. More than 10,000 vehicles per hour will be on the roadways during peak travel times.

Commuters may take a bus to the Lincoln Harbor Ferry in Weehawken. From there, they will hop on a 15-minute long ferry ride to 39th Street and then either take a bus, shuttle, or subway or can can walk to midtown.
NJ Transit will offer enhance peak service on the following bus routes on the main/Bergen County lines: 145, 160L, 160T, 163P, 164SX, 190P/D, 190R, 190X, and 192X.
