NMHS Grad Awarded Scholarship
Eastern Bergen County Board of Realtors Awarded Several Scholarships to Area Students

Karina Rodriguez, a borough resident and recent NMHS graduate, was among several students honored by the Eastern Bergen County Board of Realtors® (EBCBOR).
The group recently awarded scholarships to students in the Bergen County area,, and in conjunction with the New Jersey Multiple Listing Service (NJMLS), gave out a total of $16,000 to college-bound seniors at the high schools within EBCBOR’s area of business.
“On behalf of EBCBOR, I am proud to present these awards to such deserving students,” said Eileen O’Driscoll, EBCBOR President. “We are honored to support the youth of Bergen County in their educational efforts and we wish the ‘Class of 2011’ scholarship recipients the best of luck during their college experience.”

Scholarships were given to high school seniors who will be attending an undergraduate four-year institution. Students were selected by their respective schools based on criteria such as academic achievements, financial need, as well as contributions to their family, school and community.

Through EBCBOR’s contribution to the New Jersey Association of Realtors® Educational Foundation (NJAREF), Jordan Kao of Tenafly High School, the son of EBCBOR Realtor® members John and Julie Kao, was awarded a $1,500 scholarship. Kao will attend the University of Massachusetts, majoring in Engineering. He plans to obtain his real estate license this summer.
