Parents Head Back to School at DEOMS

The middle school opened its doors to parents

Administrators said there was an excellent turnout at the annual Back to School Night at DEOMS on Wednesday, Sept. 21.  

The evening began with a meeting led by DEOMS Principal Whitney Perro and Superintendent Michael Polizzi.

Perro spoke about the school theme of "Failure is not an Option" and all the new initiatives at the Junior Academy at DEO.  The initiatives include Connected Math, Writers' Workshop, new selective course offerings and a new computer lab complete with Skype capabilities.

After the general presentation, parents moved to grade level team presentations.  Each team provided an overview of their program and expectations for the year.  The final part of the evening allowed parents to visit different classrooms and learning areas of DEOMS.
