Photo Gallery: Interfaith Service of Remembrance

9/11 Service held at New Milford Presbyterian Church.

A candlelight interfaith service in remembrance of 9/11 was hosted by the New Milford Presbyterian Church. Clergy from other houses of worship participated and other attendees included borough officials, fire and police personnel, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and many members of the community.

After a moment of silence, Leonard Vernon, a survivor of the attacks on the Twin Towers, told his story of how he escaped on September 11, 2001. He exited the WTC just in time to watch it fall and remembers "I was so sickened by what I saw, that I just started walking uptown, to my wife."
