Ridgefield Park Man Sentenced for Gas Station Robberies in Teaneck, Nearby Towns
Frederick V. Agodon told police he needed money to pay rent and child support, authorities say.

A Ridgefield Park man was sentenced to 15 years in prison Friday for robbing gas stations in Teaneck and other Bergen County towns,northjersey.com reported.
Frederick V. Agodon, 34, to pay his rent and child support, the report said. Agodon admitted to five robberies in Bergen County and one in Hudson County after being questioned by Teaneck police detectives, .
At his sentencing, Agodon’s attorney, Ana Tolentino, said he was not a violent person and argued he committed the robberies under duress, according to the northjersey.com report.

Assistant Bergen County Prosecutor Thomas Kearney, however, said, Agodon faced the same problems as many law-abiding citizens, the report said. Agodon was charged with five counts of armed robbery, each carrying a possible 20-year sentence, but accepted a plea deal to serve a maximum of 15 years in prison.
Agodon at knife-point last year, police said after his arrest. He also held up stations in Little Ferry and Bogota, authorities have said.

Teaneck investigators brought the crime spree to an end when Detective Sgt. Kenneth Egbert and Detective Christopher Buscavage spotted Agodon walking on Teaneck Road in Ridgefield Park shortly after one robbery, police said after the arrest.
Agodon is also awaiting sentencing in a North Bergen gas station holdup, where an employee was stabbed.
