Rollover Accident on Hoffman Avenue

Police said the driver climbed out of her overturned Land Rover on her own

A blue Land Rover flipped over on Friday night on Hoffman Avenue between Holly and Boulevard around 6 p.m., according to the NMPD. 

Sgt. Thomas Johnson said the driver hit a tree, which caused the vehicle to roll over. Johnson said the driver climbed out on her own and was walking around when emergency personnel responded to the scene. 

"The driver said she swerved to avoid another car and went into the tree which cause the vehicle to flip over," said Johnson. The other vehicle was not present when officers arrived on the scene.

The driver said she was not injured but was transported by Holy Name EMS to Holy Name Hospital to be checked out as a precaution.

Johnson said numerous calls came into 911 around 6 p.m. to report the crash.

The NMFD responded to the scene to deal with the fluids that leaked from the vehicle onto the roadway. The fire department left the scene around 6:48 p.m.

Tenafly Auto Collision was there with a flatbed tow truck and turned the car back over and removed it from the scene. The driver also swept up the debris that had been in the road.
